The jockey wheel is located near the tow hitch and allows the hitch to be raised above the tow ball of a car or motor vehicle. Once attached to the towing vehicle, the jockey wheel is fully retracted or disengaged and raised as high as possible to obtain the greatest possible ground clearance.
